The Stuart Sutcliffe Estate recently received such a kind message from Justin Kreutzmann.
“Justin Kreutzmann was born to the world of art, music, and the highly creative if unconventional world of the Grateful Dead. In 1978, when Justin was eight, his dad gave him a Super-8 camera, and his path was set for life. Backstage at Dead concerts became Justin’s sets, and the people, band, crew, family, hangers-on, became his actors.
Justin has worked on a number of high profile projects with music legends such as U2, Motley Crue, Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon, Dhani Harrison, Perry Farrell, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Don Was, John Doe, Lou Reed, John Mayer, Emmylou Harris, Mavis Staples, Dr. John, Grateful Dead, Mike Campbell, Stone Temple Pilots, Pete Townshend and The Who.
Justin was executive producer on the feature film, The Other One: The Long Strange Trip of Bob Weir and is a producer, along with Martin Scorsese, on the Grateful Dead documentary, Long Strange Trip.”

Justin posted this, in honor of Stuart’s birthday:
Happy birthday to Stuart Sutcliffe. 1940-1962. Talented artist, writer and a big part of @thebeatles early history. From my Beatles readings he impacted @johnlennon the way Paul Speegle did @jerrygarcia and Gio Coppola did for me. A very important person taken away too soon… pic.twitter.com/Pmmt4Id9t5
